Job Description
This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience working with a wide range of modern farming machinery and equipment while completing a nationally recognised qualification in Agricultural Mechanical Technology. You will be supported by experienced tradespeople and gain practical skills in a real-world agricultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with servicing, maintenance and repair of agricultural machinery
- Learn diagnostics and fault finding on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Support breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance programs
- Maintain tools, equipment and workshop cleanliness
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
- Complete required training and apprenticeship coursework
- Strong interest in agricultural machinery and mechanical work
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
- Reliable, punctual and safety focused
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Comfortable working in a rural environment and outdoors
- Driver’s licence and reliable transport preferred
- Pre-apprenticeship or mechanical experience highly regarded (but not essential)
- Full-time paid apprenticeship
- On-the-job training with experienced agricultural mechanics
- Nationally recognised qualification upon completion
