Kickstart your career in hospitality with a hands-on Commercial Cookery Apprenticeship in a busy, well-established restaurant known for its authentic Italian cuisine, traditional recipes, and quality dining experience.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced chefs in a professional kitchen while working towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Commercial Cookery — all while earning and gaining real industry experience.

About the Role
As a part-time Commercial Cookery Apprentice (20 hours per week), you’ll develop practical skills across all areas of kitchen operations in a fast-paced à la carte environment. You will gain experience preparing and cooking a variety of dishes including fresh pasta, classic mains, and traditional desserts, while learning the foundations of professional cookery.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Assisting chefs with preparation and service in a busy restaurant kitchen
  • Learning fundamental cookery techniques including sauce preparation, pasta dishes, and plated service
  • Supporting stock control, food preparation, and ingredient handling
  • Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organisation
  • Working collaboratively within a professional kitchen team during lunch and dinner service
About You
  • Genuine passion for cooking and interest in Italian-style cuisine
  • Reliable, motivated, and committed to completing a Certificate III qualification
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
  • Good communication skills and ability to thrive in a team environment

Previous VET studies or hospitality experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
