Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Chef to complete a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery through our Group Training Organisation (GTO), placed with a well-established hospitality venue in Wentworth.

This is a full-time apprenticeship where you will gain practical, on-the-job experience in a busy kitchen while working towards your qualification.
You will be supported by an experienced kitchen team and develop the skills required to become a qualified chef.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation
- Prepare and portion ingredients including meats and vegetables
- Assist with preparation of sauces and menu components
- Follow recipes and measure ingredients accurately
- Maintain mise en place and stock rotation
- Assist in preparing and cooking meals under supervision
- Operate kitchen equipment safely
- Plate and present meals to required standards
- Support kitchen operations during service
- Follow food safety procedures and workplace standards
- Maintain hygienic food handling practices
- Clean and sanitise preparation areas and equipment
- Monitor correct storage and temperature control
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen
- Assist with daily cleaning and close-down procedures
- Dispose of waste appropriately
- Work effectively within a team environment
- Current driver’s licence and reliable transport (essential – travel to Wentworth required)
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Genuine interest in commercial cookery
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Full-time apprenticeship with paid, on-the-job training
- Nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery)
