Job Description
Lower Murray Water is seeking a highly organised and motivated Contracts & Administration Officer to support the delivery of the Victoria Murray Floodplain Restoration Project, a major environmental infrastructure program enhancing the health of high value floodplains along the Murray River.
This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in a once in a generation project that contributes to regional prosperity, environmental sustainability and community well-being on a full time, 12-month fix term contact.
Working closely with the Project Director and Procurement & Contracts Lead, you will support contract management, procurement processes, project governance and project administration across multiple partner organisations.

Key Responsibilities:
Contract & Procurement Support
- Assist with sourcing, tendering and procurement processes in line with Lower Murray Water and Victorian Government Purchasing Board policies.
- Maintain and update the Stage 2 Contract Register, ensuring contract timelines and validity are tracked and proactively managed.
- Support contract administration including reporting, document control, contractor performance monitoring, change management and milestone tracking.
- Prepare project reports, Board papers and documentation for Project Control Groups.
- Manage and operate the projects administrative and quality management systems (ERP, contract management, document management, invoice register, design management)
- Liaise with Lower Murray Water ICT regarding system access and issue resolution.
- Provide administrative support across partner organisations, including scheduling, document management, meeting coordination, agendas and minutes.
- Support the implementation of the project specific Safety Management Plan
- Ensure contractors meet WorkSafe and regulatory safety requirements
- Participate in audits, safety reviews and risk management processes.
- Support project delivery teams with compliance tasks and reporting
- Contribute to toolbox talks, onboarding activities and stakeholder engagement
- Promote continuous improvement and a strong safety culture
- Degree/diploma in procurement & Sourcing, Business, Project Management – Or 5+ years relevant experience
- Proven experience in contract management, procurement, cost control, scheduling or project administration
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a criminal history check
- Experience in environmentally or culturally sensitive projects – desirable but not essential
- First Aid - desirable but not essential
- White card - desirable but not essential
