About the Role
FPMMAC are seeking a skilled and motivated Department Liaison Officer to facilitate communication and collaboration between FPMMAC and external entities, particularly the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA). This role is pivotal in strengthening relationships, supporting leadership, and ensuring the effective delivery of obligations and outcomes under DEECA portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for DEECA staff engaging with FPMMAC.
- Coordinate meetings, share updates, and ensure smooth information flow between stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, agencies, and community organisations.
- Support the General Manager and other FPMMAC roles in delivering strategic priorities.
- Collect and analyse data to identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, including DEECA’s Full Year Progress Reporting.
- Develop and maintain a Workplan in line with DEECA requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as directed by the General Manager.
- Comply with all safety policies, procedures and work instructions to support a safe work environment.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent report writing and communication abilities.
- Proven relationship-building and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Practical problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays.
- Satisfactory national police check and Victorian Working With Children Check.
- Reliable and self-motivated.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Resilient, ethical, and composed under pressure.
- Commitment to FPMMAC’s Code of Conduct.
