Job Description
As a Quality Leading Hand you will manage the day-to-day quality assurance activities for pistachio hulling, drying, grading, roasting and packing operations. This includes food safety, product quality, quality systems, continuous improvement, Laboratory operations and compliance activities.
The role involves ensuring all Food Safety and Quality aspects are managed to mitigate risk and optimise product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all products are tested in accordance with food safety standards, customer requirements, and in accordance with Food Safety & Quality Systems.
- Ensure compliance to Internal Pest monitoring and recording processes.
- Ensure all product, equipment and packaging is stored according to procedures.
- Assist in internal and external auditing process.
- Ensure Quality Assurance staff are appropriately trained and skilled to ensure consistent and accurate interpretation and assessment of defects.
- Compile samples for product testing, to ensure compliance with food safety standards, client specific requirements, and nutritional content.
- Experience in similar roles
- An understanding of Quality Assurance programs
- Internal auditing skills
- Analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
