Job Description
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in contractor interface, site coordination, compliance and progress monitoring while supporting junior project staff and working closely with a broad range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure all works comply with WHS, environmental, and quality management requirements
- Monitor contractor compliance with approved safety and environmental management plans
- Manage incident reporting, RFIs and non-conformance processes
- Participate in audits and support corrective actions
- Administer construction contracts including variations and progress claims
- Monitor contractor performance and report on contractual compliance
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance site culture
- Provide day-to-day supervision of site works
- Monitor construction progress against program and budget
- Support Project Officers with site data capture, reporting, and record keeping
- Act as the primary on-site liaison between the project team, contractors, and stakeholders
- Prepare regular progress reports and technical updates
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records
- Track milestones and ensure site documentation is complete and compliant
- Support engagement with regulators, consultants, Traditional Owners, and local communities
- Ensure project activities are communicated clearly, professionally, and respectfully
Essential
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure construction projects
- Strong background in contract administration and site-based supervision
- Sound knowledge of WHS, environmental, and quality systems
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Experience on government-funded or publicly regulated infrastructure projects
- Experience working on environmentally sensitive or complex construction sites
- Professional Engineer registration (Victoria) or working towards it
- Membership or affiliation with Engineers Australia
